Grandpa in my pocket part 3

(That's me holding Hamish). Just realised how much Milly looks like my younger sister - next to me and Thomas looks like a blend of my brothers (both in green). How funny!

This is a family photo of my cousins on my dads side in the 80s. Could you tell? Still live in my dark denim blue jeans.

Grandpa in my pocket is on the ABC at long last! I blogged about it here and here. Unfortunately though at the most impossible times for school kids: 8:30am and 12:45pm. At least Milly and Henry(?) get to enjoy it. It is the sweetest show about a Grandpa and his Grandson who get up to mischief with the Grandpa being able to shrink himself (a bit like Honey, I shrunk the kids).

Today's episode was about Beowulf (pronounced Bearwolf), their dog. I can't find a photo of him online... It made me remember the days that I would play Swallows and Amazons, Famous Five etc with my 2 brothers, sister and Hamish, our Cairn Terrier. He was a fabulous dog and only died just before Thomas was born 6 years ago.

I remember the day that we bought him. Dad and I chose the cheekiest puppy. The five of us turned up to my mum's workplace (Dad was on holidays) with him. Poor mum was just a little surprised and concerned about having a fifth child in the house. Now I understand this! Kirk would love a dog. He still talks about the day that he had to return a dog that he brought home. The responsibility of a dog worries me a tad. But when they are as cute, fun and healthy as Hamish was, I know how much joy they can bring to kids!

[instore] just a tad excited

For purely selfish reasons, I am very very happy to be now selling the Amy Butler range of journals, books and patterns. There is even a CD of her most recent patterns available. I am a little bit of a stationery nut. I have a collection of pretty papers, erasers, pencils etc that I had as a child. {note to self - must must must start to use!} I enjoyed keeping them in pristine condition on my desk. Which, is the same desk that I use now.

Amy Butler's journals are truly beautiful. I am a little in love with the sketches inside. Oh so very pretty.
I love my job! Our customers will quickly catch on to my joy of these I think :)

This time of the year is exciting as we start thinking about Christmas. Mad isn't it!

Catch up

Oh what a week!! Has someone pressed a fast forward button - it feels like life is going past so very quickly.

A few highlights ...

Another of Milly's artwork. This is her family going to the park.

Finally got around to going to Ikea on Saturday night. They were open late. Spent the whole time worried about the kids being around so many people midst swine flu issues. I am a paranoid mother. Went through a whole packet of wipes, trolley, hands, pram ...

I bought a trolley full of frames for my Belle and Boo prints and this one. Love it on Henry's wall. I love the idea of lying in bed with the kids looking at their artwork and chatting about it. My impulse buy at Ikea (everyone has at least one don't they?) - a cheap plastic bag holder for the laundry. In hot pink ...

[sharing] i am so so so excited!

Have been bursting at the seams for the last few weeks knowing that I am going to be an aunty for the first time and now that 12 weeks is up I can finally share!!! Being a mummy is the best job in the world, but being an aunty to your siblings kids comes in as being pretty close. I think just knowing how special children are and what a privilege it is and knowing that your brother and sister in law have the opportunity to know the same love and share that love is a wonderful feeling.

It took me quite some time to fall pregnant with my eldest and one doctor told me that I may not have children. I think that this has made me cherish my babies and new life even more.

I have already given them the red and white stripe Alimrose monkey. He is a must have for every baby. His face is adorable. This monkey reminds me of my brother. One of his colleagues once told him that I had a photo of him on my site (the cheeky monkey referring to him). He is a special brother. I am so proud of him and so happy for them both.
